Rabat - the capital of Morocco- is located in the North of the country, over the Atlantic coast facing the Sale city. Rabat is the biggest political and administrative city of the country where the royal residence and governmental institutions and agencies as well embassies are . Surrounded by ramparts, the capital of the Kingdom has an important architectural heritage rich with its monuments such as the tower of the Hassan mosque (12 centuries ),that is 55m high, one of the rare vestiges of the unfinished work proximate to the city, the Shalla metropolis. The city hosts many museums ( archeology, craft) . It is the premise of the Mohamed VI university 1997 and many educational and cultural institutions. Important seaport, Rabat is also a business and industrial city( textile , food industry, construction materials). Tourism and local craft play an important economic role.
